Participant Spotlight: Lily Ann Silva

Meet Lily Ann Silva, a passionate educator born on the island of Oʻahu and now happily settled in Hilo with her ʻohana. As the heart and soul behind Silva Keiki Academy, she has been transforming young lives for 16 incredible years, impacting over 50 children and their families.

Lily Ann’s journey with INPEACE began in 2003 when she joined the Panaʻewa Keiki Steps program as a Teacher’s Aide. Immersed in the world of early childhood education, she soon discovered her calling. Fueled by her ambition, she grasped every opportunity, utilizing scholarships from INPEACE to earn her Child Development Associate Credential in Early Childhood Education.

But Lily Ann’s ambitions didn’t stop there; she dreamed of becoming a licensed family childcare provider. Determined to turn her vision into reality, she enrolled in courses with PATCH, diligently fulfilling all requirements. On August 1st, 2007, the doors of Silva Keiki Academy swung open, marking the start of a nurturing haven for young minds.

Embracing growth and learning, Lily Ann continues her partnership with INPEACE through the Early Literacy Institute since 2021, enriching her teaching approach, strengthening her literacy curriculum for our youngest keiki, and making a lasting impact on the lives of children and their families.
