Ho‘oulu Waiwai aims to build economic stability for individuals and families by strengthening their personal finances and helping them achieve their financial goals through education and individual coaching. Research shows that increased economic stability for families positively affects children’s academic and long-term economic outcomes.
We provide culturally relevant financial workshops, personalized one-on-one coaching, and incentivized match savings accounts to help people build family assets. Since 2014, Ho‘oulu Waiwai has helped decrease the average debt per participant by $9,690, totaling $87,214 in overall debt reduction.
