Becoming an educator can involve years of coursework, testing, credential requirements, and professional transitions. Ka Lama Education Academy helps participants navigate that journey and move forward with support, mentorship, and a clear pathway.
A generous $175,000 grant from The Hearst Foundation will strengthen Ka Lama’s teacher pathway program and help aspiring and current educators achieve meaningful milestones during the coming year.
Ka Lama aims to help: Current or aspiring educators make progress toward a degree or credential, pass required licensure or certification assessments, and advance along the educator career continuum.
Career advancement may include moving into Educational Assistant or para-educator positions, entering teacher residency opportunities, or transitioning from emergency-hire roles into fully licensed teaching positions.
