INPEACE received $16,000 from Kamehameha Schools Kaiāulu!

INPEACE received two $8,000 grants from Kamehameha Schools Kaiāulu Event Sponsorship! KS Kaiāulu supports community events with the understanding that “one of the ways that kaiāulu are strengthened is through gatherings that build common experiences and bonds of its people to ʻāina, to one another, and to valued practices that build the welo (traits reflective of an ʻohana or hui) of a kaiāulu”.

Our Community Schools program received this funding for its “Valley CommUNITY Fest” held on March 6th at Nānākuli High & Intermediate School. This event brought together community organizations and state agencies to promote awareness of career pathways and available community resources through a collaborative effort of youth, parents, and families alongside community programs, public service partners, and local organizations and vendors with deep roots in the area.

We also received funding for our “Nānā I Ke Ola” event happening in May, celebrating one year of operations at our INPEACE Community Hub in Nānākuli! This celebration is intended to acknowledge the collective effort that made our hub, Nānaikēola, possible and to reinforce the space as a shared community resource dedicated to education, economic opportunity, and community well-being.
