Hoʻāla received $15,000 from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs!

INPEACE Hoʻāla received a $15,000 grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Hoʻākoakoa Lāhui Event Sponsorship for “Preschool Here I Come”! This investment helped create a welcoming, culturally grounded early learning fair for families to access resources, build connections, and prepare their keiki ages 0–5 for preschool and kindergarten. The event was held on May 1st at our INPEACE community hub in Nānākuli and hosted nearly 600 attendees. Rooted in aloha, kuleana, and pilina, this event strengthens school readiness while supporting the important role of ʻohana in early learning.

This support helps reduce barriers families often face when navigating preschool enrollment, childcare subsidies, developmental screenings, and other early learning services. By bringing community partners together in one accessible space, Preschool Here I Come makes it easier for families to receive guidance, explore resources, and take confident steps toward their child’s educational journey by:

· Supporting culturally grounded early learning opportunities for keiki ages 0–5

· Increasing family access to preschool and school readiness resources

· Strengthening connections between ʻohana, educators, and community partners
