Since 2011, Our Hoʻāla Program stands as a beacon of support for ‘Ohana with young keiki, ages 0-5. Hoʻāla’s mission is to simplify the lives of families by connecting them with quality childcare and essential financial assistance and is funded by Kamehameha Schools Kaiāulu. Through outreach spanning Nānākuli to Keawaʻula &; ‘Ewa/Kapolei on Oʻahu, the island of Kauai, and Hilo, Hawaiʻi, the program ensures that every ‘ohana can cherish precious moments with their keiki and prepare them for a lifelong journey of education.

Jaime Rabelas joined our Hoʻoulu Waiwai program in August 2022, seeking financial coaching. Together with Hoʻoulu Waiwai Program Director/Financial Coach, Nohea Kaolulo, Jaime created, reviewed, and refined her spending plan, eventually gaining the confidence to complete the task alone becoming self-sufficient.

In December 2023, a significant milestone was reached in the realm of children’s literature with the launch of the Aloha ʻOhana Book Series. This groundbreaking series, crafted by the dedicated staff of Keiki Steps, marks a pivotal moment in celebrating and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Hawai’i.
