The State of Hawaii Department of Health Family Health Services Division awarded $1,041,065 to our Hi’ilei program. We will continue home-visiting services to families living in Waianae and Moloka’i.
With this funding, Hi’ilei will utilize the Parents As Teachers (PAT) model to deliver high quality home-visiting services that build strong communities, thriving families, and children who are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Our goal is to increase parent knowledge of early childhood development, improve parenting practices, provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues, prevent child abuse and neglect, and increase children’s school readiness and school success.
“The funding through Department of Health and HRSA will continue to allow Hi’ilei to provide FREE ‘ohana and keiki visits to empowere and support pregnant women and parents to be their child’s most influential teacher.” Nalani Galariada, Hi’ilei Program Director
