The James & Abigail Campbell Family Foundation invested $50,000 to continue furthering the work of our Kupu Ola (to bring forth or sprout life) program. This investment in Kupu Ola will foster student motivation for learning and encourage school and community connection through the provision of project-based cultural programming. The purpose of the James & Abigail Campbell Family Foundation is to invest in Hawai’i’s people and the communities that nurture them.
INPEACE is committed to “improving the quality of life for Native Hawaiians through community partnerships that provide educational opportunities and promote self-sufficiency.” Our Kupu Ola program has a strong partnership with Waianae Intermediate and its teachers. Through this partnership we provide a culture-based curriculum that provides learning opportunities in all subject areas (math, science, social studies, language arts, etc.) through a Native Hawaiian lens. One of our greatest strengths is focusing on developing student leadership and providing cross-class mentorship opportunities to every youth.
