We are excited to announce that INPEACE has been awarded funding by the Hawai’i Department of Education Procurement and Contracts Branch to provide specialized support services by implementing the Community Schools Model Strategy. This grant will allow INPEACE to expand its reach and deepen its impact in providing educational resources and wraparound support to students attending Nanakuli High School and Barbers Point Elementary School.
The Community Schools Models approach to education goes beyond academic instruction. It integrates health, social, and emotional support services, fostering a thriving environment where students and their families can receive a range of services in one central location. By turning schools into hubs for community engagement, the model builds a stronger, more connected support system for learners.
INPEACE’s implementation of the model aligns with our mission “improving the quality of life for Native Hawaiians through community partnerships that provide educational opportunities and promote self-sufficiency.” We know that a healthy, thriving community directly contributes to student success, and this model ensures that students and families have the resources they need to overcome barriers to learning.
INPEACE is proud to collaborate with the Hawai’i DOE in this important work. The alignment between our organizations goals and state’s educational priorities ensures a sustainable model of support. Through this partnership, we are not only creating pathways for individual student success, but also contributing to broader systemic change that benefits all of Hawai’i’s communities.
