Chloe (14) and Emma (12) Colandrea, young entrepreneurs with a passion for creation, joined the INPEACE Center for Entrepreneurship program to turn their school-project pop-up mākeke into a thriving business, Pua Mau Loa. The program’s proactive and supportive approach inspired them to commit fully, providing tailored assistance to meet their specific needs.
One of the most valuable lessons Chloe and Emma learned was the importance of building connections. The program emphasized networking and provided opportunities to meet and collaborate with other small businesses. These connections have been crucial to their growth and success.
Exposure was another significant challenge the program helped them overcome. With the advice and opportunities provided by INPEACE, Chloe and Emma increased their visibility and reached a wider audience. This exposure has been instrumental in attracting customers and vendors, allowing their business to thrive.
A major milestone in their journey was participating in their first market, the Holiday Pop-up Market. This event allowed them to showcase their products and connect with supportive customers and vendors, marking a turning point in their business.
Chloe and Emma’s parents, Jesse and Jana Colandrea, have seen remarkable growth in their children since joining the program. They have developed a deeper understanding of running a business and the importance of community support. The program has also brought their family closer together as they worked alongside their daughters to achieve their goals.
For other young entrepreneurs considering joining the Center for Entrepreneurship, Chloe and Emma advise to never stop loving the journey of creating. With the support of family, friends, and INPEACE, entrepreneurship becomes a rewarding experience. Chloe and Emma are grateful for the opportunities and support they have received and are excited about the future of Pua Mau Loa.
