The Department of Community Services City & County of Honolulu has awarded $200,000 to INPEACE through the Grants In Aid program to help strengthen new businesses with the strategic focus on businesses owned by families with young children.
With the purpose to provide services to economically and/or socially disadvantaged populations or to provide services for public benefit in the areas of the arts, culture, economic development or the environment, the $200,000 in grants in aid will invest in new family-owned community business starts-ups on the Waianae Coast to increase their capacity to succeed. Our goal is to provide personal and business finance training, 1-on-1 coaching, provide access to business micro loans, and support peer networking. We will also provide administrative back office support, specialized services such as bookkeeping and mentoring from expert business owners.
“Our Ho’oulu Waiwai program is grateful for the investment the City & County of Honolulu is making to support local entrepreneurs. With this award we are excited to provide intense support for our local families to grow and expand their small business to become self sustainable.” – Lisa Pakele, Ho’oulu Waiwai Business Development Program Manager |
