The State of Hawaii Department of Human Services Office of Youth Services awarded $100,000 to continue furthering the work of our Kupu Ola (to bring forth or sprout life) program. The goal of Kupu Ola is to foster student learning and their connection to school and community through Hawaiian cultural-based education.
Kupu Ola delivers Hawaiian culture-based curriculum and leadership opportunities in an outdoor classroom bringing cultural and academic lessons together and supporting the growth of cross-generational mentoring relationships for each participant. For the past 7 years, Kupu Ola has been collaborating with Waianae Intermediate to provide teachers an opportunity to collaborate and provide the best program for their students.
