Samuel and Mary Castle Foundation Awards $50,000

We are excited to announce our Early Literacy Institute program has been awarded a generous grant from the Samuel and Mary Castle Foundation. This significant funding will enable us to continue our work of empowering child care providers, young learners and their families by providing essential literacy resources and support.

The Samuel and Mary Castle Foundation is renowned for its dedication to early childhood education in Hawai’i. Their support of programs that nurture young minds and prepare them for academic success aligns perfectly with the goals of INPEACE’s Early Literacy program. This grant is a testament to the foundation’s belief in the power of early literacy as a cornerstone of lifelong learning and success.

At INPEACE, we believe that literacy begins at home. Our Early Literacy Program is designed to equip parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge they need to foster a love of reading in their children at an early age. Through interactive workshops, culturally relevant materials, and ongoing support, we help families build strong literacy foundations that will benefit their children throughout their educational journey.

This funding will allow us to ensure that more families across Hawai’i have access to our resources and programs. We will be able to enhance our curriculum, provide more books and learning materials. The impact of early literacy extends far beyond the classroom. Children who are exposed to reading and language development at an early age are more likely to succeed academically, have higher self-esteem, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Samuel and Mary Castle Foundation for their generosity and belief in our work. Their support in our program is an investment in the future of Hawai’i’s keiki, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to thrive. Together, we will continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families across Hawai’i.” ~ Germaine Tauati, Program Manager
