The Hearst Foundations has awarded INPEACE a grant for $100,000, which will support INPEACE’s Hoʻoulu Waiwai Business Development Program’s Business Incubator project. The project will continue building upon INPEACE’s successful 2-year collaboration with community business development organizations to provide the necessary skill-building resources, along with technical and relational supports, that have supported Waianae Coast residents in establishing 38 small businesses.
The Hearst Foundations are national philanthropic resources that focus on providing institutions and organizations working in Education, Culture, Health and Social Services. Hurst Foundations’ goal is to “ensure that people of all backgrounds have the opportunity to build healthy, productive and inspiring lives.”
Through this generous grant, INPEACE’s Business Incubator will continue working with both current and new participants to build on local talent, create new financial options for families, and strengthen the economic foundation of the Wai‘anae Coast community through financial capability training, business finance education, and business development workshops. Furthermore, through a membership fee structure, Incubator participants will receive continued coaching and support services to execute their business plans, refine their products, and expand their market.
