Ho‘oulu Waiwai received a grant from the Bernice and Conrad von Hamm Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation! The fund supports Financial Literacy programs that “engage individuals and families in Hawai‘i to build financial knowledge and skills, enabling them to reduce financial vulnerability, achieve economic stability, and contribute to a thriving local economy.”
Ho‘oulu Waiwai is a community-based financial literacy and coaching program that supports Native Hawaiian and low-income families in developing lifelong skills for managing money, reducing debt, increasing savings, and building financial resilience. The program’s design blends group learning with individualized support, empowering participants to take control of their finances, build stability, and prepare for future financial planning and smart financial choices—key to a strong local economy.
